About

The Multidisciplinary Psychoanalytic Research Cluster at University of California, Davis engages cutting-edge ideas on psychoanalysis across the disciplines.  Currently, we host both the Freudian Sips speaker series and the “On the Silver Screen” film discussion series in addition to other events.  We are a DHI research cluster sponsored by the Davis Humanities Institute.

We support research talks, discussion and collaboration, and support for faculty and graduate research that engages with psychoanalytic texts and ideas in new and pluralistic ways. By putting psychoanalysis in conversation with emerging thinking on time, history, memory, materiality, bodies, care, economy, narrative, experimentality, improvisation, space, indigeneity and performance, we hope to provide a space for faculty and students to explore and develop work at the forefront of humanistic and critical social science engagements with psychoanalysis.
